The Beginning of Stinson Communications, LLC
Stinson Communications is a boutique agency offering white label solutions. It is established on the premise of being able to custom tailor advertising, marketing and public relations services to the individual needs of local business owners. Marketing is a full-time responsibility and requires strategic planning. My goal is to allow business owners to do what they do best: run their business! What Stinson Communications prides itself in is being able to help grow your business through marketing and branding strategies that make sense for your business and your budget. As a boutique agency, we are able to cater specifically to your individual needs, tailoring a marketing campaign that works for you!
Growing up in the Roanoke Valley, I have been able to cultivate myself within the Star City. I went to high school at Roanoke Valley Christian Schools and later went on to graduate from Roanoke College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Concentration in Communications. I worked at Buckle, Inc. through my undergraduate studies as a Manager in Training, where I learned the ins and outs of maintaining and growing a retail boutique store. I traveled with Buckle, Inc., where I was given the opportunity to assist in managing several stores throughout Virginia and Florida as well as aiding in the opening of two new stores. When I finally decided I wanted to move past retail sales, I stumbled across a sales position with Carilion's Botetourt Athletic Clubs, where I jumped into the health and fitness world of marketing and selling gym memberships to the local community. I seem to grow in each position and jump through open doors; it seems I rarely meet a stranger. I have worked with Fox 21/27 previously, before taking on a Center Director role for J&K Education with Sylvan Learning. After running both Roanoke and Charlottesville successfully, I missed being in the world of broadcast television and advertising. Through my many professional roles, I have learned the power of customer relations, the importance of business structure, and how effective marketing can guide a business into success. As a high-spirited person, with little sleep, I work full-time assisting my clients in their marketing efforts by placing television schedules, providing market research, analyzing websites and creating ideas that will take them just one step further.
I am also currently working towards a Master's degree in English from Radford University, which I expect to obtain in Spring 2016. As much as teaching writing and the art of literary scholarship does amuse me and ignites a sort of passion, I always feel the need to express that, in fact, I am not going to school to be a teacher. English is a subject where I can study art, history, sociology, psychology along with the skills of rhetoric. I study characters and the world around me and then I learn how to effectively communicate my thoughts. My business background provided me with strategy skills; English provides me with a keen eye and necessary persuasion skills for marketing.
